To ALL

Elections to the National Executive
- The NUT is one of most
democratic trade unions in the country. We hold elections to
the National Executive every two years.
- Many members were angry
last year because nothing was done to improve pay - especially
in London.
- Many believe that the
Union does not resist workload pressures strongly enough.
- Many think that more pressure
should be put on the Government to give teachers better PAY and
CONDITIONS. Only this will improve recruitment/
- The balance on the Executive
against those who want the Union to be more radical and robust
is very close indeed.
- We have to nominate OUR
candidates to stand for election. Please come and participate
in the democratic process in the NUT. Lets have new leadership
for our Union
MOTIONS
FOR CONFERENCE
Conference is the "Supreme
Authority" of the Union. It is here that policy is laid down
and our strategy planned e.g. salaries policy for next year.
Motions for Conference must come from local associations or the
Executive. Waltham Forest has Association has been a major influence
in the Union over the last few years.
Come and make sure we continue to have our say!
